1byone Lightning Charger Comparison Review

Essential to every iPhone user is a charger.

With every iPhone comes the standard white lightning charger. They seem to last forever, until you start noticing a tear on either end of the cable. This happened to me at a crucial time when there was no Apple store in the remote parts of Russia and Mongolia.

I learned my mistake of buying non-Apple MFI certified chargers, which was just a waste of money and time. Instead, if you were to buy a charging cable that isn’t directly from Apple, consider getting one from 1byone.

Pros:

As mentioned earlier, don’t buy a cable that isn’t Apple certified. You’ll only be frustrated and have to buy a new one. Fortunately, 1byone’s cables are Apple certified so you won’t have to worry about the quality being terrible.

With that part out of the way, another pro includes choices. 1byone makes their cables in a variety of colors like pink, black, blue and yellow, which Apple doesn’t have. At the same time, something unique to 1byone are their braided cables. These are cables with an additional layer of fabric wrapped around the cable in a braid format, giving it a unique look which comes in metallic shades.

Your 1byone cable of any color is also compatible with all your Apple devices including your iPod, iPhone (iPhone 5 and up) and iPad. To top it all off, the cables have a one year warranty and when it comes to pricing, the cables in any color are cheaper than Apple’s $19 standard 1 meter cables.

Cons:

While the cable is advertised to be 1 meter long similar to Apple, it is worth noting that 1byone’s cables are slightly shorter than Apple’s. This may or may not be an issue for you, depending on where you like to charge your iPhone. Also, when unboxing the cable and using it for the first several weeks, it will feel stiff.

And it is also worth noting that the lightning connector on the braided cables are slightly thicker.

The Verdict:

1byone’s cables are an alternative to Apple’s charging cables with more variety in color and are cheaper, but just as good.
