Packing List: 3 Days in Atlanta

My Trip to Atlanta:

Recently, I traveled to Atlanta for SITSum Atlanta, an event for travel bloggers and social media influencers. Over the course of the 3 days event, we explored Atlanta, learned from some informative speakers and more. This packing list includes exactly what I packed for the event.

Shoutout to the sponsors of the event, including SuperShuttle, which drove us from place to place, the W Atlanta – Midtown, which provided our accommodation, the Woodruff Arts Center, which hosted us during the learning sessions and finally the Atlanta tourism board and Sensei Project for putting the event together.

Although it wasn’t my first time in Atlanta, SITsum allowed me to rediscover what Atlanta had to offer – and I wasn’t disappointed.

Atlanta Packing List:

Climate:

Be sure to research what the weather will be during your stay in Atlanta. The weather can greatly affect what you should pack when visiting, as Atlanta can get very hot in the summer and almost to freezing in the winter. While I was in Atlanta it was rainy and cloudy most of the time.

Below are charts of the average monthly temperature and rainfall in Atlanta.

Backpacks and Luggage:

Manhattan Portage Harbor Backpack

Since I would be in Atlanta for only 3 days, I decided to take just a backpack, not a suitcase. I traveled with the Manhattan Portage Harbor backpack, which is waterproof and has a 33-29 liter capacity (1747 cubic inches). The size was perfect for my 3 day trip, and it was completely carry on.

Clothes:

Adjust the number of clothes according to how long you’ll be in Atlanta. If you’re staying for a week, feel free to add more clothes to the list.

Brooks Pure Project T-shirt, I have this in purple
Levi’s 511s

Airport outfit:

I wore jeans and a polo to the airport. The outfit was presentable, comfortable and versatile, at least in my opinion. 🙂

I organized all of my clothes into my Eagle Creek packing cubes. Packing cubes allowed for me to sort out my clothes, keep them wrinkle free and keep them from getting disorganized while traveling. In one cube, I put all of my tops, in another I put my bottoms. In a little cube, I put all of my socks and underwear.

Read my review of packing cubes.

Footwear:

Timberland Stormbuck Lite Brogue Oxfords

I wasn’t entirely sure what footwear to pack for this destination, so I ended up taking 3 pairs. It was unlike me to take 3 shoes for 3 days, especially considering I traveled around the world for 2 years with only 2 pairs of shoes (sandals and sneakers).

I was still able to comfortably fit all my shoes into my backpack, so it all worked out in the end.

While in Atlanta, I primarily wore my Timberland Stormbuck Oxfords. They were comfortable enough to wear during long food/walking tours and dressy enough for dinner.
