New York City is not quite the Mecca of the outdoors or outdoor gear – but that might change.
W ciągu 30 brands stopped by the westside of Manhattan to show off their hottest products and Fall 2016 lines in the inaugural Get Event Zewnątrz NYC mediów, goszczony przez Outdoor Retailer.

Here are some exhibitors and products I found noteworthy at the event:
Lifestraw

Lifestraw displayed their original filtration straw, as well as the new LifeStraw Go 2-stage filtration bottle. Lifestraw’s products filter out bacteria and protozoa from contaminated water, allowing travelers, turystów, and anyone going off the grid to drink with confidence.

Thule

The travel gear brand showed off their hammocks and travel accessories. I’ve reviewed a number of Grand Trunk’s products in the last few years and it was great to have a chance to meet up with their brand representative.

Real Deal Brazylia

This company based out of Greenville, N.C. uses recycled tarp from Brazilian cargo trucks to make hats, bags and accessories. I got to test out one of their hats during a trip to Ecuador.

Danner

Danner, the Oregonian footwear brand, displayed their new Mountain 600 buty in addition to classics, jak Mountain Light. It was great to see what Danner had in store for the new seasons, as I’ve tested one of their boots last winter here in NYC.

Wolverine is a footwear brand specializing in work, outdoor and casual boots. At the Get Outdoors NYC show, they exhibited their 1000 Mile collection, durable waterproof boots and more. One in particular was the Evans boot, made with a Horween leather upper and Goodyear Welt Construction.
Kuhl

Kuhl is an clothing brand which makes gear for travel, hiking and other outdoor pursuits. Khul’s booth at the front of the exhibition floor displayed their pants as well as tops and outer layers, like the Spyfire Hoody.

Kelty

I’ve been using Kelty’s backpack for a long time, and traveled around the world for 2 years with a Redwing 50, so it was great to meet their reps and see their new products. Kelty focuses on camping gear and backpacks, one of the new bags being the updated Redwing 44.
Mountain Khakis

Mountain Khakis is a mountain lifestyle brand. Their pants are made for taking on both the office and the outdoors. At their booth, I got to see their latest shorts as well as tops.
