Although frequently overshadowed by Brazil’s busier cities to the north, namely Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Florianopolis is a must-visit beachy destination. Visitors can choose activities ranging from sandboarding to spending time in Florianopolis’ lauded party scene. Best of all is simply relaxing in one of the island’s many beaches, including the famous Playa de Joaquina.
