ದಿ Coldcreek boots are made of RubberHe (Kamik’s rubber technology which is “50% lighter than natural rubber and 30% lighter than other synthetic rubbers”) and neoprene. The part which covers your foot is rubber, while the part which covers your calf is neoprene. The outsole has deep lugs keeping you from slipping when walking on ice or snow.

While I usually think of wetsuits when I think of neoprene, it makes perfect sense for the calf part of these boots to be made of the material. The neoprene used is insulated and waterproof, keeping not only your feet, but also your lower legs warm. At the top of the boots you’ll find elastic draw cords which can be tightened to keep snow and cold air out. The draw cord is large enough to be used with gloves on.

The orange material that you see inside the boots is a fleece lining which goes from the top of the Coldcreeks all the way down to the toes. The insulation will keep the cold out, and these boots are rated at -40°F/-40°C.

I’ve stepped in puddles and have tested submerging these boots. Water won’t seep in and since these boots are calf length, it’s improbable that moisture will get in from the top.

Once temperatures drop even lower, I will update this review on how the Coldcreeks perform in heavy snow and subzero temperatures.
