While in Shanghai a while back, I went for a traditional Chinese foot massage.
I wasn’t too keen on going at first, but I figured it would be a good cultural learning experience and plus, my uncle claimed it was going to be relaxing.
On the day of our scheduled foot massage, we walked over to the massage place and waited for our appointment. After a few minutes, we were directed to sit on some plush sofas in a dark room and remove our shoes. The massage was about to begin.
ಪ್ರಥಮ, the masseurs and masseuses brought out large buckets of hot water; one per person. We were told to place our feet in the buckets, a way to clean our feet and for the masseurs to prepare our feet for the treatment. The water was hot. Almost scaldingly hot. Maybe that should have been a warning sign for what was to come next.
My masseur then removed my feet from the water, dried them off and began to rub in some oils. I’m an inherently ticklish person, so I tried my best not to kick the masseur in the face or move around too much. A few minutes in, tickled turned to pained as the massage therapists forcibly worked out tight areas on my soles. The masseur’s movements were firm and slightly rhythmic. He worked his way from the toes to the heel and at one point even used a mallet like object.
While I was grimacing, my uncle in the reclining sofa adjacent to mine was dozing off.
ಸುಮಾರು 30 minutes after taking my feet out of the hot water, the session was over.
ಉದ್ದ ಕಥೆ ಸಣ್ಣ, I didn’t find it the most relaxing. But in spite of the pain, I’d consider foot massage a net positive as it was probably good for me, although I wouldn’t do it for fun.

The Moji Foot PRO isn’t quite a Chinese foot massage, but it does help with relieving foot pain and can apparently help with plantar fasciitis. Here are my thoughts on the Moji Foot Pro after testing it out for about a month:
ಸಾಧಕ:
- By putting the Moji Foot PRO in the freezer, you can give your feet a foot massage
- ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ
- Can help relieve foot pain, I used it after a few long runs
- “Great for plantar fasciitis” according to Moji, I can’t confirm this since I don’t have plantar fasciitis, but based off of the many positive reviews from people with plantar fasciitis, I would presume the Moji Foot PRO works well for that
- Small and compact, you could travel with it (although it’s quite dense and heavy (1.25 ಪೌಂಡ್) because of the solid metal spheres)

After long runs, my feet occasionally hurt and I’ve used the Moji Foot PRO to help with that, almost like a Chinese foot massage. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ, I just run the soles of my feet along the metal spheres. You can apply pressure according to your needs. When placing my full body weight on the Moji, it can hurt, but that’s the point, ಬಲ?

Another option is to leave the Moji Foot PRO under a desk and use whenever you need it.
I’d imagine after rubbing the soles of your feet against the massager it’d get dirty pretty quickly. According to Moji, “Preferred use is with socks.” It’s pretty easy to clean the Moji Foot PRO, just rub it down with an alcohol wipe.

One thing I’ve noticed when using the Moji Foot PRO is you can actually use it to massage other sore body parts instead of just feet. The Foot PRO is not meant for this purpose, and you might want to get Moji’s Curve PRO massager instead if you’re planning on massaging your hamstrings or quads, but the Foot PRO will suffice if you’re occasionally massaging tight areas.

ಕಾನ್ಸ್:
I really don’t have any major issues with the Moji Foot PRO, but I’ll update this review if I come across any.
It might not be the most practical to travel with the Moji if you’re trying to pack light, but if you really need to relieve foot pain, you could easily toss it in your backpack or suitcase.
ವರ್ಡಿಕ್ಟ್:
It’s a foot massager. And it does it’s one job well.
The ability to stick the Moji in the freezer and give your feet an ice massage is a welcomed feature and the product is overall well made.
ದಿ Moji Foot PRO costs retail $40. Maybe that’s a bit pricey considering it’s a piece of plastic with 6 metal balls attached to it, but I can’t imagine the Moji breaking or me ever having to get a replacement.
