Stance Socks Review: Are These Stylish Socks Worth It?

I reviewed the Men’s crew length Stance Barracks model in size Large.

Stance Socks Review:

While most socks are simply black or white, and overall uninspiring, Stance claims to combine both style and functionality in their socks. For the most part, Stance has practiced what it preached, by creating comfortable and stylish casual socks. I ended up getting 2 outrageously colorful pairs of Stance socks, including the ‘Barracks’, and another, which I couldn’t find the name of online.

The Barracks socks are made of combed cotton, polyester, spandex and nylon, and are extremely soft.

The model that I own sports a unique design containing multiple bright colors, flowers, stripes, dots and more.

Pros:

• Stylish design/pattern
• Wicks sweat and moisture
• Soft and comfortable
• Decent fit

The socks fit decently well, better than normal socks, however not an amazing fit. You can feel that the socks were specifically made to fit the shape of your foot with a bit of arch support. These socks also wick sweat and keep your feet from getting too sweaty.

Cons:

• No features other than a cool design
• Relatively expensive (retail $14)

Other than the swanky design, there aren’t too many other features of the Stance socks. They’re simply your average sock with style. It is also debatable whether Stance socks are worth the money. Unlike other socks, such as the Icebreaker Merino wool socks, which I wrote a review of, these socks don’t have features like odor resistance, extreme breathability or the ability to dry quickly.

At retail $14, these socks are also more expensive than generic socks, i.e. Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. If you are planning on wearing your Stances often, they could be worth the investment, however that completely depends on your own perception. It would be nice if Stance could add some more features to their socks to further validate the price tag.

Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that Stance didn’t design these socks to for high performance wear, rather for casual wear and just to look cool, but they do have a performance line.

The Verdict:

The Barracks Stance socks are a well designed pair of socks in terms of style and comfort, however their price and lack of features may be a set back for some. Overall, these are a good choice for those looking for a stylish and comfortable pair of socks.
