Timex Sleek 150 Watch Review

The Timex Sleek 150 watch is made for Ironman competitions, triathlons and other things like that, but it can also be used for everyday needs, like as an alarm clock.
I always thought that things were supposed to depreciate in value after you buy them, but that wasn’t really the case for this watch. I’ve had the Timex Sleek watch for around a year and a half, but for some reason the price on amazon.com is still the same as when I bought it.
Anyways, I bought this watch with the intention of using it while running, and just to tell time. The Timex Sleek watch met and surpassed my needs with all of its features.
The main selling point of this watch for me, was the TapScreen feature. The watch is tappable for splitting laps while doing rigorous activities like running or swimming. It’s supposed to save time when competing, but I mainly use it just because it’s a cool feature. After over a year of use, the tapping technology is still working like new. The tap pressure can be changed so that the tapping thing won’t go off randomly.
There are several other colors other than my orange one, like grey, white, etc.
Here are some of the watch’s features:
- Waterproof to 100 Meters
- Indiglo Night-Light
- TapScreen Technology
- Target Time Pacer
- 150 Lap Recall
- A Giant Face (It’s supposed to make the time more visible when running, but on my small wrist it looks oversized.)
- 3 Alarms
- Stopwatch
- A Bunch of Random Other Stuff
The Timex Sleek TapScreen watch is pretty helpful while traveling because it can be used as an alarm clock, watch, and for running. It’s like killing 3 birds with one stone.
I’ve read several reviews where people said that the tapping technology would go off when just slightly tapped, but I haven’t had any problems, and it’s been 1 and 1/2 years.
Issues:
I have a small wrist, and the Timex Sleek 150 watch’s oversized face is a bit large on me, but it isn’t a really big problem. The face size probably won’t be a problem if you have a larger wrist. It is meant to make the time more visible when underwater and stuff like that.
I’m not sure why, but one of the buttons on the side of the watch stopped working completely. It isn’t press-able and feels jammed. On the bright side, button happened to be the one button that I don’t use too often, but it could have been a much larger problem if it were another.
I’ve never tried the watch out for swimming, so I can’t really say anything about that. But the watch is really helpful for timing runs and for sticking to a targeted pace.
It could be a bit more durable, but other than that I didn’t really have any major problems.
The Verdict:
I’ve been satisfied with the watch and for retail $90 dollars; I don’t think it is a bad price either. The strange thing is that on amazon a year and a half ago I got the orange one for $60, but right now it’s $80.
You can check the watch out on Amazon here.
There is also white one, which costs a bit more on the Timex website here, and on amazon here.
And there is also an even newer one that’s basically the same, except better with more features here.

I changed the battery in the watch but I can’t tap anymore and there is no beep sound and the alarm doesn’t work I tried fixing the problems with the solutions online but it still doesn’t work…any ideas?
Hi Jess thanks for commenting! I’m not sure what the problem is but maybe something got messed up when you reassembled the watch after changing the battery. I changed my battery a while ago and I think misplasing the black plastic washer could mess up the electrical current from the battery. The mechanical parts could have also shifted around when you unscrewed the back plate to change the battery. Hope that helped. – Jonathan
