Nothing will stop you from taking these rain boots.
Meet the Chooka Packable Rain Boot, the rain boot practically made for travel.
Depending on your style of travel, it’s safe to say the majority prefer the ‘less is more’ philosophy. Who wants to lug around extra things they don’t need? I especially, being a former long term traveler, know the struggle and wish I had these packable rain boots back then.
The Chooka Packable Rain Boots are perfect for light weight travelers exploring cities and taking short or long term trips.

Pros:
- Packable
- Foldable
- Lightweight
- Comes with carry sack
- Waterproof
The first obvious pro is the fact that the boot is packable. You can fold the boots and stick them into a bag, which conveniently comes with the rain boots, then pack them in your suitcase! They are lightweight too, so you don’t have to second guess about taking them in your suitcase or backpack.
These rain boots are completely waterproof, so having these will be essential when you travel to a rainy destination.
Here’s how the packable feature works:
First fold the shaft of both boots down.
You should be able to fold it about two times down, since the shaft is 12.5 inches long.

Once they’re folded, put them into the Chooka branded bag that comes with the rain boots.

And you’re done! It’s that easy.

Fit:
The Chooka Packable Rain Boots in size 6 run a bit large. Even with thick socks on, I have a bit of extra room in the toe box, but not too much to where it’s hard to walk in. The shaft, made of rubber, covers around 13 inches and hits a couple inches below the knee. There’s more than enough room around the shaft to wear jeans and not feel too tight around your legs, though this would depend also on your legs since everyone is different.

Warmth and Waterproof:
There isn’t a lot of insulation on the inside of the boot, so wearing thick socks during colder months may be helpful to keep warm, or you could just save these boots for use on rainy spring days.
Since the shafts covers the calves, they will prevent rain droplets from splattering onto the back of your calves or pants while walking in puddles.

Cons:
- Durability
Travel friendly items are usually not the same as items not labeled as travel friendly. With the Chooka Packable Rain Boot, it feels less durable than a regular rain boot. This is due in part to it being able to be packed. The soles are thin and may be vulnerable to sharp items which could penetrate through.
It will definitely be wiser to wear these boots in the rain than regular shoes that will get wet and stay wet, but these boots may not be the most sturdy pair of boots you’ll own. The solution would be to take the boots with you in the convenient bag. When it rains, switch out whatever shoes you are wearing with the rain boots. And when it stops raining, switch them out again. This way, the rain won’t interrupt your day of traveling and visiting a city.

The Verdict:
I’d take these boots with me because of their packable feature which makes these Chooka Packable Rain Boots convenient and great for traveling! One drawback though, is that these boots may not be the most durable.
