The “Fly Pry” has created quite a stir, and has already exceeded its funding goals.
Saugus, Massachusetts, August 9, 2015, It is said that necessity is the mother of invention. Flavio Pellegrino’s new “Fly Pry” is a perfect example of that statement. He created the world’s smallest Titanium Multi-Tool after facing the predicament of not being able to open a bottle of ice-cold German Brew. After he made use of an old broken zipper slide he noticed in his tool drawer, his inventor’s mind went to work. Flavio originally designed the “Fly Pry” to replace zipper pulls on jackets or other gear with an item that would be more useful. His concept was to design something as small as possible while still maintaining the quality of usefulness. Military grade Titanium became the material of choice for its superior rust resistance.
The “Fly Pry” is proudly made in the USA in Flavio’s shop located just outside of Boston. It can be used for a multitude of tasks, such as: Bottle Opener, Pry Bar, Scraper, 1/4 Hex Bit Holder, Box Cutter, Can Opener, Screw Driver (Flathead), Screw Hook Wrench, Key Chain Attachment, Zipper Pull and the possibilities are as endless as one’s imagination. They are water jet cut by a CAD Machine and then finished one at a time by hand in his shop. The chisel edge is hand ground to a perfect ~45 degrees. Sharp enough to cut boxes or open a can of tuna, but not sharp enough to cut people.
The “Fly Pry” is available in three different versions: King Fly – Full featured, Micro Fly – Smaller, without a hex-bit adapter, and Queen Fly – No key chain attachment hole, simply uses the 1/4 hex bit adapter hole as the attachment point. Several color choices are available: Blue, Purple, Gold, Bronze, Green, or Natural. The standard finish is either a Matte Finish, or a Satin Finish. The company reports that their Kickstarter campaign will help with funding the project to the next level. Sponsors will receive rewards for their help and support.
