An Ugg Australia classic.
When it comes to looking stylish, yet comfortable and keeping warm while exploring a city or spending several hours on an international flight, no footwear fits those requirements better than the Classic Cardy by Ugg Australia.
These are an evergreen pair of boots. I’ve had mine for five years… and they are still available for purchase.
Pros:
- Three ways to wear
- Very warm
- Sheep wool insole
- Quality
- Lasts a long time
- Walk long distances
The Classic Cardy can be worn three ways, making it easy to change your look within seconds so you don’t have to pack multiple pairs of boots.
In the first way to wear it, the boot comes up about three fourths of my calves, below my knees. This way shows the three wood buttons (or two for youth and kid’s sizes) and keeps your calves warm.
The second way is cuffed and folded down, which hits at about four inches above my ankle.
And third is unbuttoning the buttons and or pushing the boot overlay down for a super casual look.
Fit:
I’ve had these boots for a long time and because my feet are on the smaller side, I bought a youth size. It still fits today but is a little snug yet true to size.
I sometimes don’t wear socks with them since the sheep wool is so soft, which leaves extra room for my feet.
Warmth and Waterproof:
My feet tend to be perpetually cold in the winter even with socks on, but not when I wear the Cardy. It’s also super comfortable with soft sheep wool inside (you can opt to not wear socks and still be warm!). I’ve even walked for over eight hours while traveling in Savannah Georgia with the boots on, yet my feet felt fine.
It may be keep your feet warm, but it is not waterproof.
Cons:
- Not waterproof
- No traction
The only con is unfortunately the knit look of the Cardy means it’s not waterproof. This makes the boot not ideal for snowy destinations, however it’d be a great boot to warm up after some time spent in snow activities like skiing or snowboarding.
Even though it’s not waterproof, it’ll still work for other chilly fall outings or long distance air, bus or car trips. Just avoid wearing it on rainy days, it won’t be comfortable when it gets wet!
The Verdict:
These are the perfect laid back boot when you’re at the airport and are comfortable enough to walk in for hours, but are not for winter rainy or snow days.
