Fnova Water Bottle Review

January 17, 2016 By Thither Staff 2 Comments

There’s nothing better on a cold winter day than a hot drink, be it hot chocolate, water, tea or a cup of coffee.

The Fnova water bottle is a sleek and simple water bottle that keeps your drinks warm. The bottle comes with 3 interchangeable caps, allowing you to choose which cap to use based on your current activity.

I’ve tested the 21 oz size, which was perfect for daily use. Here are my thoughts:

Pros:

  • Sleek design, matte black finish
  • Comes with 3 interchangeable caps (sports cap with straw, plastic cap with a small carabiner and a wood and metal cap) which allow the bottle to be used for all kinds of activities
  • The sports cap is great for going to the gym or to use during any physical activities
  • Made of stainless steel
  • No condensation

While testing the Fnova water bottle I used it during a ski trip, at the gym and at home.

The 21 oz sized model was perfect and not too big or too small. It fit in a standard cup holder.

The Fnova bottle is insulated and kept my drinks warm for a few hours, however it wasn’t nearly as warm as the GSI Outdoors glacier vacuum bottle. In addition to testing the bottle with hot water, I’ve also filled it up with cold water and it was able to keep my water cool for a few hours.

Cons:

Some minor details could be improved:

  • When using the plastic cap, the water tasted a bit like plastic, after a few more uses, the plastic taste wore off
  • The wood cap was chipped when it arrived, it was still functional, but the chipped cap showed that the quality wasn’t perfect

  • The looped handle of the sports cap is somewhat sharp, making it uncomfortable to hold
  • The sports cap’s straw is stiff and makes it hard to drink water when there’s just a little bit left in the bottle
  • The foam at the bottom of the bottle wasn’t inserted properly and has an air bubble and absorbs water – not a big deal, but a bit annoying. It would be better if it were made of rubber of silicone instead of foam.

The Verdict:

Overall, the Fnova bottle is a versatile and sleek water bottle ideal for everyday use and day trips. Travelers can pack this bottle with them to use when exploring cities and when outside.

You can find the Fnova water bottle for around $25 on Amazon.com. The price is reasonable and comparable to that of similar water bottles – plus you get 2 extra caps.

Compare this bottle to the Eco Vessel filtration water bottle and the GSI Outdoors glacier vacuum bottle.

I loved how this water bottle has three interchangeable lids, it is definitely flexible in any lifestyle. However, I would just like to ask, how many hours specifically can this bottle keep beverages cold/hot?
