Food For Thought: Free Apps

Why Should I Buy Apps When I Can Get Hundreds of Thousands for Free?

Sometimes before a long road trip or flights I populate my iOS devices with several game apps a few days before the big trip, just to keep me entertained. I almost always end up finding really fun or interesting free apps. Sometimes it makes me think, “Why would I ever buy apps on the app store while there are hundreds of thousands of great apps out there that are free?”

Though I think that to my self I have calculated that I have actually spent a total of over 50 dollars worth of apps and in app purchases.

After hours spent browsing the app store I have noticed that there is a way to save a little bit of money on the app store.

Checking the Apple App Store once in a while can actually save you a good amount of money. While I have spent a lot of money on the app store, I have also gotten a lot of apps for free. There are the free apps each week, and at other random times formerly paid apps become free. So far, I’ve gotten Asphalt 7, P90X, Tiger Woods Golf, Need For Speed Shift 2, Monopoly and many other apps for free.

There is usually a free app of the week that is under the featured tab in the Apple App Store that is changed about every Thursday.

Overall, I have noticed that if you are willing to put a little time into browsing the Apple App Store you can save a few bucks here and there.
