Muk Luks are known for their original knit slipper socks.
The company started with these comfy, casual, cold weather staples. But what about their other shoes? Muk Luks’ Boots & Shoes collection includes styles for every occasion during your travels.
From snow to rain boots for those respective days and fashionable knee and ankle boots for city exploring, we’ve chosen the Muk Luks Naomi Boot to put to the test.

Pros:
- Slight heel
- Soft interior lining
- Outer embellishment
- Lightweight
- Comfort
As with any shoe worn for travel, comfort is key. Sometimes the term ‘comfort’ is associated with normal, boring looking shoes, but that’s not the case with the Naomi boot. It has a slight heel at 1.5 inches, making it look stylish, yet allowing you to wear it while standing or walking around all day.
Its soft interior polyester fur lining serves as cushioning and a foot warmer. It’s a lightweight shoe, great for packing if necessary. Outer embellishments of a chain and a tied extension of the brownish faux leather gives it an anything but boring look.

Fit:
The Naomi boot in size 6 is true to size. It’s a perfect fit however, when walking many, many miles my toes started to feel a little pinched.
To give you an idea, I was out of the house all day, leaving at 7:15 am and arriving back at 10:45 pm, all while wearing the shoe to walk from place to place in Manhattan. In between walking, I was standing up for several hours while at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, admiring art and exploring every corner of the museum. With this kind of day, your feet will be bound to hurt no matter what kind of shoe you wear, so this may not be an issue with the Naomi boot.

Warmth and Waterproof:
As mentioned before, there’s a soft interior polyester fur lining to keep your feet warm and with the addition of wearing socks, the Naomi boot will be too hot to wear obviously during the summer months and could also even be too warm for the early fall months (basing this off of New York weather, so this will depend on where you are traveling to). But this makes it a perfect boot for cold weather!
This fall and winter boot is water resistant, but is not advisable to wear during heavy rainy days.

Cons:
- The zipper gets stuck, can’t unzip past the chain link
For the left boot, the zipper only zips down to where the embellishments start. I’ve tried pulling the zipper all the way down but felt like the whole thing would rip off if I forced it, so I decided against doing that.
It can zip down enough for me to slip my feet into the boot, but the zipper may prove to be a nuisance for some. I think the reason is because the loop for the embellishments is in the way of the zipper track. As for the right boot, it zips all the way down but takes effort. I try to be delicate with it because I don’t want it to break!

The Verdict:
When you want to walk around in heels, but stay comfortable, the Muk Luks Naomi Boot fits the bill. It’s a comfortable, stylish and warm shoe for the on the go traveler who will be walking in a cold weather city. If you don’t think the zipper will be a big issue for you, consider the Naomi Boot for your next urban adventure!
